What is Fundrise?
Fundrise is an online real estate investing platform that allows everyday investors to invest in a variety of real estate projects. It provides a unique opportunity for investors to diversify their portfolios and earn returns through investments in commercial, residential, and mixed-use properties.
Fundrise: How Does it Work
The platform has been praised by many users who have used it to find lucrative investments with low minimums and high potential returns. But how exactly does Fundrise work? Fundrise works by connecting investors with real estate developers who are looking for capital to fund their projects.
These developers submit project proposals and pitch decks outlining the details of their project, which can include information about the property’s location, expected return on investment (ROI), construction timeline, and more. Fundrise then reviews each proposal carefully before deciding if it is suitable for its platform.
If accepted, the developer’s project will be posted on the Fundrise website, where interested investors can review each offering and decide whether or not they would like to invest in it. Once an investor decides to commit funds to a particular project, they can do so directly from the Fundrise website or via their mobile device using the free Fundrise app.
The investor will then receive periodic updates regarding their investment status as well as performance metrics such as ROI or cash flow estimates over time, depending on which type of investment they chose to make (e.g., equity vs. debt).
Real Estate Crowdfunding Tax Advantages
All investments made through Fundrise are eligible for tax advantages at both state and federal levels depending on specific criteria met by each individual investor’s circumstances. This is in addition to allowing users access to private market investment opportunities through its crowdfunding platform.
Fundrise also offers other services, such as portfolio management tools that allow investors to easily track their investments over time and manage them accordingly based on risk tolerance levels or desired returns goals.
The company has recently rolled out various educational programs designed specifically for those new to investing in order to ensure that everyone is comfortable with their decisions before committing any money to any particular investment option offered through Fundrise’s online marketplace.
Overall, Fundrise provides a unique opportunity for everyday investors looking for alternative options outside of stocks/bonds/mutual funds/ETFs, and so on. They also offer numerous educational resources along with portfolio management tools that help streamline investing decisions over time,
This allows users of all experience levels access to what was once only available exclusively through traditional private markets.

Fundrise Ben Miller (CEO and Founder)
Ben Miller is the Co-Founder and CEO of Fundrise, a real estate crowdfunding platform that gives individuals and companies access to unique investment opportunities.
Founded in 2010 With Brother Dan
He founded the company in 2010 with his brother Dan Miller, who serves as President. The Millers saw an opportunity for ordinary people to invest in real estate with small amounts of money, creating a level playing field in an industry that had been traditionally closed off to everyday investors.
How He Did It
Before founding Fundrise, Ben worked in private wealth management at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. During his tenure there, he was part of the team that launched their Wealth Management Institute and managed investments for clients across the United States.
In 2009, Ben left Morgan Stanley to pursue a career in entrepreneurship full-time.
In 2010, Ben and his brother Dan co-founded Fundrise with the mission of democratizing access to real estate investing.
They raised $31 million from venture capital firms, including Greycroft Partners and Revolution Growth, and began offering crowdfunded investments on their platform by 2012.
By 2014, they had become one of the largest platforms for alternative real estate investing in the United States, with over $100 million under management.
Since then, Fundrise has continued to expand its offerings and services by launching new products such as eREITs (electronic Real Estate Investment Trusts) which allow investors to easily purchase shares in diversified portfolios of commercial properties without having to go through a traditional fund manager or broker-dealer.
To date, Fundrise has helped thousands of individual investors participate in more than $4 billion worth of deals while also providing capital for small businesses throughout America’s most underserved communities.
Ben is passionate about creating economic opportunity for all Americans regardless of their financial means or background.
His commitment to helping everyday people build wealth through real estate has earned him numerous accolades, including being named one of Inc Magazine’s “30 Under 30” entrepreneurs in 2016 as well as Washingtonian Magazine’s “Tech Titans” list two years later.
Today Ben continues leading Fundrise as it expands its reach into more markets around the world while continuing its mission of providing accessibly priced investments backed by reliable returns for everyone from first-time investors to seasoned professionals alike.
